As for family and home, it’s your typical summer weather here in Tampa, Florida: heat, humidity, sunshine, rain, and repeat. Add in a tropical storm or two, and the rain multiplies. Luckily, my husband, Michael, works from home, and I see him daily. Usually, he can’t get anything by me, but this time he did! He planned to take a few days off around my birthday on July 14th. I didn't know he planned for all the kids to come home. Anyone who knows me knows that family means everything to me. So this was very special! My stepson Troy and daughter-in-law Shannon came in from Pennsylvania, our daughter Alexis from Michigan, and my twin sons, Anthony and David, got off the road to be home. Our blended family was home! We had a weekend of cooking and shopping, a concert by Sammy Hagar with guitarist Joe Satriani (yes, we were soaked to our bones from the Florida rain), a re-creation of a very memorable picture, and most importantly, love. A blended family of yours, mine, and ours, all missing a piece of our hearts. Pictured above: A family photo recreated through the years. My love for my son Paul continues to carry over to my passion for American Gold Star Mothers. Representing your child is one of the greatest blessings of belonging to this organization.
Love and Hugs, Annette
