New Veterans Memorial and More

The Volunteer Chapter had a busy day on May 17th. After our meeting, we visited the new French Broad River Veterans Memorial Park. We were blessed to spend some time with Bill Robinson who was the longest enlisted POW during the Vietnam War.

​Next, we dropped by the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (which is also on the French Broad River), and we visited the Gold Star Memorial at the cemetery.

Woody Williams Gold Star monument unveiling

On Saturday May 17 2025, Lorrie Fleming attended the ceremony in Miami Florida to the unveiling of the Woody Williams Gold Star Monument. Lorrie was at the event and was able to get together with our PNP Georgia Carter Krell. Georgie has been a member of AGSM since 1976. It was a honor to get together with Georgie.

KY CONVENTION 2025

Kentucky Mothers gathered at the General George S. Patton Museum at Fort Knox, Kentucky for their annual Spring Convention 2025. Kentucky Department President, Lynn Romans, shared an uplifting message and vision for the department moving forward. ​

Roll-Call Vietnam Commemoration Pinning

March 28th Carla Wicks, AGSM North/West TX Sec/Treasurer, organized the Vietnam Commemorative Pinning ceremony at the Roll-Call Luncheon. 63 Vietnam Veterans and 2 Surviving Spouses were pinned and proclamations presented to officially welcome them home and tell them a grateful nation honored their service. April 5th a group of Roll-Call WWII, Korea and Vietnam Veterans were escorted by Carla Wicks, AGSM North/West TX Sec/Treasurer, to the TX Rangers game as special guests of Jon Gray, Pitcher.
